Saying “no” clearly and decisively can be hard, especially for #women as they are often raised to be ‘nice’ and #NotBeDifficult
It is also tough to say no if one feels pressured, intimidated or afraid, or is in emotional distress or under the influence of #alcohol or #drugs 1/3.
It is therefore crucial to proactively check in with your partner before initiating any new activity, making sure to convey that it’s okay for them to say “no” if they are not keen, or if they change their mind after having given #consent earlier 2/3.
It is also important to pay attention to their body language and non-verbal cues: it is NOT consent if they are silent, inactive, looking uncomfortable or hesitant or pushing away.

Remember that only a clear and freely-given “yes” indicates consent 3/3.
