House Democrats are mostly blaming the left, rather than leadership, for their losses. The media continues to frame this as a center vs liberal war but Pelosi’s “like 5 people” vs everyone else frame seems closer (though the caucus is moving left overall) https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/11/pelosi-floats-above-democrats-war-435799
“We moved too far left” & “we neglected core constituency groups” are both common Democratic election interpretations, though they are being deployed here even in presidential victory. Because of the polling miss, you’re not seeing a lot of “brilliant Biden campaign” takes.
Meanwhile, Trump’s unwillingness to concede & congressional & state Rep overperformance is disrupting any Republican election learning. The eventual interpretation will likely be a combo of COVID, media bias, & Trump personality, none of which is likely to prompt re-invention.
