For their Liver & Kidney module, @RCSIPharmBioMol Year 3 students had to identify and summarise a case report on drug-related kidney injury.

The first reports how an infected wound from a fish tank led to a patient requiring dialysis (for acute kidney injury secondary to rhabdomyolysis).

Another reported an AKI linked to black cherry concentrate taken as a traditional remedy.

Last, a case of hypercalcaemia-induced kidney injury.

This was just a small selection of what our @RCSIPharmBioMol students wrote about.
They have to be commended for finding important cases which illustrate the importance of #MedSafety and how pharmacists can potentially reduce drug-related kidney injury.
