For folks who lives & *are* still living under U.S. military terrorism today is triggering. I’ve said this a billion times & I will not stop saying it. We still do not know how many ppl were killed during the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama. It was the Black communities decimated.
Yes people are used as pawns in the U.S. military industrial systems. And military are proud to “serve.” But I wonder if they EVER ask WHO and WHAT INTERESTS are they in service *TO*? I’ve seen countless photos of the Panama Invasion & the u.s. military people were SO YOUNG.
And we talk about military recruitment in high schools but when you see them in action it’s all the more inhumane. Viewing the military aiming guns at Black people I see everyday on the streets in Panama. One in particular, a U.S. soldier grabbing someone by their scalp.
The look of abject fear of someone who had nothing to do with Noriega who almost overnight was suddenly a dictator having worked with the U.S. and being called the U.S.’s “man in Panama.” Whenever imperialist whims shift, it is always Black people in that death count.
