It’s time to tell you something about us! Since you may not know exactly what Arminia Bielefeld stands for, who we are in detail and what we believe in, we’d like to introduce ourselves for you – fact by fact, from 1 to 10.
1. „Nobody conquers the Teutoburger Wald!“ – this phrase expresses our identity and speaks out how we feel about our home. Opponents are warmly invited to travel to Bielefeld and to play against us. They may win, but no matter what, we still rule the region!
2. We are not perfect. But that’s fine! We strike to improve and to learn from our mistakes. That helps us to improve and to grow on a daily base. This is how and who we are as „Ostwestfalen“!
3. Our home matches take place in the „SchücoArena“. Built in 1926, we consider this place our home. The location says all about our importance for Bielefeld – you can find us in the city center.
4. Behind a strong football club stands a strong partnership and connection with local partners. The „Bündnis Ostwestfalen“ represents a union of many companies from nearby that support Arminia Bielefeld in many ways.
5. Tough times come and go, but we stand together! No matter if we play in the first, second or third league: Resilience is one of our biggest strengths, that’s why we are who we are. Since 1905, we fought our way back to the Bundesliga eight times. That’s a record!
6. For the first time since 2008/2009, we are back in the highest German football league, the Bundesliga. Feels good to be back!
7. Our captain with the number nine, Fabian Klos, is by far our longest signing. Fabi came to Arminia Bielefeld in 2011, led the club from the third league to the Bundesliga and represents our all time top-scorer!
8. A healthy club structure can only exist with a lasting youth department. While our Under-17 and Under-19 play in the Bundesliga, these teams brought up our current number 1 – Stefan Ortega Moreno plays for Arminia Bielefeld since 2007.
9. Our mascot is a bull called „Lohmann“. It shares its name with farmer Lohmann, who once leased the terrain to Arminia Bielefeld where we nowadays hold our homematches at.
10. What really matters though are the people in our back. There are 241 fan clubs as well as over 14,000 members of Arminia. Our supporters don’t just stand or cheer for Arminia Bielefeld, they ARE Arminia Bielefeld. With everything they have, always and forever.
