+We've already had 10k die in the 2nd Wave. Before it's done we'll probably have had over 30k die - & with several more months to go til the core vaccination programme is complete (assuming it works).+

+A Type 2 eradication ("shielded herd immunity") strategy wld hv involved deaths. I estimated 7500-60k, with around 30k in the most plausible case at the time (which I now think slightly too high). I believe there's good reason to think no more deaths than this 2nd Wave.+

+Then not only might we hv had fewer deaths, but the crisis resolved 8 or 9 months earlier, with vast implications for human welfare in our country.
