It disappoints me seeing black women & girls caping or muling for Black Patriarchy. Abolishing police & prisons while black women and girls endure scarily high disproportionate rates of intimate-partner femicide, spousal abuse, trafficking, misogynoir & violence isn't the answer.
Listening to many black abolitionist activists; they 99 percent of the time ignore sex-based oppression against BW. Poverty doesn't CAUSE misogyny & misogynistic violence against Black women & girls. Blaming poverty for "crime" doesn't explain Black Patriarchy or Black femicide.
I have heard and read enough from these faux-radical abolitionists to realize: female safety, female security, and female liberation are NOT priorities, not even a second or third-thought. They believe eliminating poverty, police, and prisons will create their non-violent utopia.
Getting rid of institutional state police and prisons then relying on "community protection" in the context of patriarchy doesn't work when statistically women & girls are most likely abused and victimized by people they know or who know them. It's the "community" that's abusing.
Black women need to #Divest of the male-centric/androcentric analysis of race & class issues that have defined/shaped black civil rights discourse & black "radical" movements/discourses/praxis for decades. Black community rates of patriarchal femicidal violence is a major issue.
Read the comments all over social media of Black women across political beliefs strongly disagreeing with the notion of abolishing prisons and police. Many of us want our abusers/rapists/pimps/traffickers/batterers/harassers to be charged, jailed, trialed, convicted, & imprisoned
The prison abolitionist notion that a "rehabilitation" model will "heal" sadistic, narcissistic, violent psychopaths is ridiculous & unproven. Many abusers do not fit the narrative of having a traumatic past. Many w/ anti-social disorders & malignant narcissism cannot be "healed"
Many victims do not want to sit down in a supervised/counseled room with their emotionally manipulative, gas-lighting, mind-bending, (re-)traumatizing, physical and psychological abusers for victim-offender "mediation", "healing", and "apologies." Frankly? F*ck your "healing".
The fact that WOMEN, especially female activists, are still entertaining the police/prison abolitionists after many years of their ideological framework/ discourse having NO practical, reasonable, or feminist answer to patriarchal violence against women and girls is a sick joke.
Especially women with very high rates of violence against us, such as Black &/or Indigenous women & girls.
Why is it that women with some of the highest rates of IPV, DV, intimate-partner femicide, trafficking, etc, constantly have prison/police abolition pushed on us the most?

I have said it many times before:
Women's rights activists, women's liberationists, & radical feminists need to do what we've been doing for DECADES. Separate our movement and our analysis from the rest of the "Left" including the malestream abolitionists.

The far left's "analysis" of prison and police abolition almost ALWAYS conveniently leaves out crime not caused by financial desperation and poverty. E.g.: Male crime motivated by misogynistic rage & entitlement, sexual sadism against women & girls, narcissistic sexist rage, etc.
We need an honest, grassroots movement of #Divested working class Black women fed up with the dominant discourse popular on the Far Left & in mainstream Black activist circles. It's popular to say #ACAB #DefundPolice #AbolishPrison Bringing up the misogyny & impracticality isn't.
We especially need to educate the next generation of black girls and Black teens to not mule/cape for this bullshit that is basically apologism for abusive Black patriarchy.
If a man hits, strangles, rapes, trafficks, criminally harasses a woman or girl, SEND HIS ASS TO JAIL.
If a man hits, strangles, rapes, trafficks, criminally harasses a woman or girl, SEND HIS ASS TO JAIL.
The fact womanist researchers have repeatedly noted that Black women have a strong sense of "Race first, Sex second" "race loyalty" that deters us from reporting Black men who assault/abuse us, ON TOP of the police/prison abolitionist rhetoric, worsens the pressure to stay silent
These police/prison abolitionist "activists" are basically adding to the 'don't snitch'/suffer in silence/victim-shaming culture that tells Black women to stay "race loyal"/"ride or die" and don't report abusive/violent/dangerous men who happen to be the same race as us, e.g. Blk
These police/prison "abolitionists" are essentially Black patriarchy apologists & are NOT allies to women and girls. Women and girls shouldn't be ashamed to report their rapists/harassers/abusers because The Culture will call them "snitches", "bootlickers", "carceral", "traitors"
I look forward to the day Black women collectively reach a critical mass of Divesting & rejecting the foolishness pushed on us by Far Left malestream/androcentric activists who don't actually have an answer/effective solution or good analysis for Black Patriarchy & Black femicide
To be clear, the Religious Right, (Black) social conservatism, the Black Church, patriarchal religion and complementarianism isn't going to liberate Black women and girls within our community either. Both the Right & Left wings belong to the same ugly patriarchal bird.
