Philippians 2:3 gives us a remarkable picture of humility: “Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another AS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOURSELVES”. Living under the power of God in line with this verse would have turned slavery on its head.
Indigenous peoples would have been blessed, not crushed. Jim Crow laws would never have existed. If we lived this way today, our thoughts regarding poor and rich would be transformed. Marriages that are crushing, silencing, or abusive would not exist.
Workplaces that cheat and oppress and overwork would be transformed. Christians who live under the governance of God and God alone would live and work in transformative, redemptive ways that are utterly unlike the world and its powers.
