For so many students, going home is not an option right now. But being at uni isn’t an option either. We need support, we need a safe environment we can work in and turn to. How many more students have to die before we get support for our mental health? https://thetab.com/uk/2020/11/11/going-home-is-not-a-magic-fix-for-every-university-student-stop-treating-it-like-one-181539
“Before you tell a student to “just go home,” you need to think about whether that is even an option for them. They might not want to go home. Home might not be a good place for them. We might not be safe at home.”
Being at home is what makes some students depressed, anxious and scared. Right now, at university, that’s the same feelings they are getting because there is a dangerous lack of support.
I am exhausted all the time because my mind is constantly worried about what the government is going to do next that will fuck students over. Students are tired, stressed and our mental health is rapidly declining. If you don’t start talking about it when what’s going to change?
@TheTab has started a new You Matter Campaign and I was lucky enough to contribute. YOU matter. Please be kind to people, especially students
