If I get one more angry gamer telling me "Fringilla Vigo healed Geralt actually" when she only managed to heal Geralt enough to alleviate the worst of the pain, I am going to lose my mind.
It still doesn't detract from Geralt's experience of disability and the fact he's still-
disabled. He got the equivalent of 'magic as painkillers/surgery' - plenty of disabled folks, myself included, have painkillers and go through surgery to relieve the pain.
We're still disabled.
I think some people have little to no understanding of how disability works and-
now I'm going to go and make hot chocolate and do some more work.
I also think a lot of people think I hate the Witcher videogames or something?
I really like the Witcher games, Witcher 3 is one of my go-to comfort games, and I love them for what they are.
You can critique things and still whole heartedly enjoy them. I'm the same with Star Wars
Plus, Geralt has disabilities beyond his leg and arm.
He's sterile, has mental trauma, and has problems with his toxicity intolerance from abusing his potions.
Like I said, that thread wasn't me getting into all the nuances of his disability, just the parts that resonated with me
People really will clamour to find any reason a person can't be disabled.

And they wonder why disabled people are tired of feeling like they 'aren't disabled enough'. It's not a competition. Disability is a spectrum, not a fine cut category or monolith.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that Geralt of Rivia is disabled for many reasons.

Die salty about it.
