Most likely Youth Player(s) next in line to breakthrough into the first team?....
To take a break from the dreadful Bruceball that's being served right now in our first team, I am curious to see what is going on in youth teams (u-18s and u23s) and if there's any standout players that will be the next ones to breakthrough into the first team......
I have been following our youth team closely for almost a year, and here's a top 5 list I have put together of players that we should be excited to see in the premier league soon: .....
(Note: I did not include players that have already made their debut for us in the first team such as Watts and Allan)

**1.) Elliot Anderson**

The Scotsman who recently just turned 18 and signed a long term professional contract at the club is currently dubbed our best player...
in the u23s. He plays as an attacking midfielder or a number ten, has quick feet and the ability to produce in the final third. His playing style is similar to Ross Barkley, in that apart from being an excellent dribbler with the ball, he has good stamina and tenacity in his.....
play. He has already shown consistency in the u23s, and I am sure he will be able to translate that into the first team given the opportunity.

**2.) Stanley Flaherty**

The 18 year old former Arsenal academy player just joined the u23s after a successful trial back in January...
A right side midfielder with a rocket of a left foot, has already impressed in the u23s this season with a few game winning goals. He has the tendency to cut in with his left foot and shoot, and has a strong technical ability with the ball and is good at set pieces.....
I would say his current weaknesses are his lack of physicality and pace-his playing style and build reminds me a lot of Harry Wilson (from Liverpool) who is still a very decent player. Have a feeling he may get his chance for a debut near the end of the season if he continues...
to impress at the u23s.

**3.) Yannick Toure**

The 20 year old Swiss forward was dubbed the "new Drogba" while playing for BSC Young Boys back in Switzerland, scoring 24 goals in 25 games for the Youth team. While he has failed to replicate the midas scoring touch in our u23s...
team, he has shown that he has more in his locker than just scoring goals. He is physically strong and pacey, very quick on the turn and is a good striker of the ball. He would need to continue to develop his goal-scoring ability, but has all the tools required of a.....
modern footballer. This will be his third season in our u23s set-up, and alongside with Flaherty, have a good chance to finally make his breakthrough in our first team. I think his physical build and pace equips him well for the premier league, despite his ordinary goal return...
in the u23s.

**4.) Bobby Clark**

Placing a 15 year old on this list just shows how much I rate him as a player with a really bright future in the game. Bobby, the son of Newcastle legend Lee Clark, is the most exciting player we currently have on our books in the Academy......
He is your modern day footballer - think the likes of Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham. The ball seems to be glued to his feet when he plays and can score with his left and right foot. I genuinely believe he is our 1-in-a-generation player, and it's only a matter of when, not if,.....
he breakthrough the first team. Jude Bellingham made his first team debut at the age of 16 for Birmingham, Phil Foden made his at the age of 17, and wouldn't surprise me if Bobby makes his Newcastle debut in a year or two.

**5.) Joe White**

Another one from the u18s set-up,....
Joe White, 18, is a midfielder by trade and has a real eye for a pass. I think he works well in a double pivot role in midfield, being in charge of carrying the ball from midfield and acting as the transition into the final third. I'm surprised to see him still involved in the..
u18s and not the u23s set-up this season. The boy definitely has abundance of natural ability on the ball, and similar to Flaherty, his weakness may lie with his lack of physicality. But given he was called-up to first team training last season, he is still one to watch closely..
for a potential first team call-up. Thanks for reading (end of thread)
