Not that my opinion matters, but the elections in Bihar for the opposition were anything but a disaster.

The very possibility of creating a united front, and holding it, is the greatest threat to this regime.

Am surprised that people thought governance failures would be enough.
If it was not already clear from 2014 it should have been clear from 2019 at least that we aren't fighting on deliverables, but a mirage of miracles sold to confuse the gullible, while the powerful bend or destroy institutions to loot the country and divvy up the goods.
A central pillar of this has been the disenfranchisement of Muslims with other marginalised groups being sold the belief that they would get to loot the wealth, land, and women of the community - most clearly shown and done in Kashmir.
That major political parties are afraid to confront this reality is one of the reasons that Muslim voter share continues to bleed to parties like the MIM.

No point in blaming them if you can't recognise the reality or are scared of having them in the tent.
This is a fight for the long haul. It won't be easy, and if the opposition wants to win over the long-term it will have to remain united.

The diminution of Nitish to being a promoter of upper class/caste hegemony is important (thus the rise of the Left) and a lesson for AAP, etc
