It looks a lot like where we are seeing 'COVID' deaths at the moment. Look at London, South West, North West, North East, Wales in particular. But this is a map of COPD - a chronic respiratory disease.
We are entering flu season. Every flu season we have excess deaths. These will be worse in areas with more elderly vulnerable patients but also in areas where there is more respiratory disease.
Don't just look at the excess deaths in October - compare them, by region, to those in January.
