The unemployment beat fell into my lap in March. I didn’t know I’d spend nearly 9 months talking to folks across our state dealing with unemployment issues. Truly! And if I could make one wish... (CONT)
It’d be that every single one of them were financially sound and in a good place. BUT... can I just say one really positive thing that’s come come this terrible situation? (CONT)

I have talked to complete strangers, heard their stories, watched some cry, others laugh, and helped in any way I could. As DIVIDED as our country is right now, and with so many people distrusting journalists (i could make a million arguments why you SHOULD trust us) (CONT)

The politics of it all never really came up. I mean maybe here or there but truly is one one person talking to another. I have had SO MANY friendly conversations that have connected me to others. It’s really been a pleasure to help. At the end of the day I am PROUD. (CONT)

Proud of the work journalists across this state have done - banding together to help our fellow citizens and proud of the open and raw conversations we’ve had with them. It really helped me step away from the division. And honestly, I NEEDED that in my life. (CONT)
