Spent a little bit of time cleaning and polishing the memorial in our Rugby Depot whilst on nightshift, originally at Rugby's steam shed it was later relocated to the District Electric Depot, now @ColasRailUK's On Track Plant Depot. Nice to give it some tender care #LestWeForget
Whilst the memorial lists staff from the Steam Locomotive Shed, there's a separate Roll Of Honour for the Erecting Shop (now rebuilt as the OTP Depot).

It would be lovely to know if this has survived, and if so the names restored alongside the memorial.

If you look closely at the memorial, you will see pictures of two steam locomotives, "Edith Cavell" and "Patriot". Both were of the London & North Western Railway, with the former having raised money for local prisoners of war whilst under maintenance at the Erecting Shop.
Several locomotives were bought to Rugby in the years that followed for remembrance services - firstly L&NWR "Patriot", then LMS "Patriot" and finally LMS "British Legion" were all decorated and placed just over the bridge on Mill Road.

Whilst none of the locomotives have survived, one is being built as a replica. @45551TUW are building a sister to LMS "Patriot", with the engine being a national memorial. I can't help but think of how great it would be to see it visit Rugby and be adorned as once was.
