The next natural stage in what the account is doing will be to breed a kind of "conformity in despair" ideology in that, actually, the worst outcome isn't THAT bad and that it's possible to operate in the presence of an autocratic coup.

Doomerism isn't just self-destructive, it is socially and collectively destructive. Engaging in despair actively erodes the social groups to which you belong and makes them at risk for bad actors.
