Here is the takeaway... the kid was 19 years old (asked for his ID), he’s out there hustling going door to door working on his pitch. It’s literally freezing here in Denver. Did not have a heavy jacket. I asked why - he had the heaviest jacket on he owned. (2/n)

He had shake in his voice and was trembling as he worked through his pitch... the guy is out there, unknowingly being taken advantage of for cheap labor but is actually grinding, not showing signs of discouragement other than nerves. (3/n)

Intention drives behavior. He is out there not taking any plays off, working intentionally so that he is able to achieve his ultimate goal of getting an education. Every time you take a minute off at work, skip a workout, click next on that Netflix episode (4/n)

Remember that there is someone out there working harder than you coming up from behind. If you take plays off, or cheat yourself, don’t wander why you’re passed over the next time you don’t think you get what you deserve. Someone is earning it (5/n)

Everyone on this app that is going to see this thread is coming from such an enviable position the the other 99% of the world. Remember, we have to be GRATEFUL for what we have. We have to keep earning our keep, and when we take plays off, remember someone is coming for us. (6/n)
