So you landed on my account bc I've been tweeting abt misinformation? Welcome. Another thing I'm really into: unions.
I think it's worth highlighting a change in the NYMag piece that's worth clearing up, on sensitivity readers our union allegedly pushed. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/11/inside-the-new-york-times-heated-reckoning-with-itself.html

Original wording highlighted in yellow, wording tweaked and now currently reads in the grey highlight. (Thank you for making the correction, NYMag.)
This whole thing about sensitivity reads has been misconstrued from the start.

The idea was not to hire sensitivity readers to kill "non-woke" ideas in articles. It was to relieve the burden on our POC coworkers who are already being asked, all the time, to read something and check it to make sure it is fair and representative.
This is spelled out in our union's list of recommendations that we brought to mgmt. It is NOT about exercising editorial control over pieces, which is not our union's place. We simply wanted our POC employees to not feel stretched thin and we wanted a clear process in place.
It's been highly disappointing to see people misconstrue the union's intentions in such bad faith, including in this RT article. This thread can hopefully help clear that up.
