Bookmarked this because I was not ready to say something about it, but I am now. A quick thread:

I still don't have the right words to express how much it means to me that leaders are putting in the work to unf*ck the things that ended my own career. 1/ https://twitter.com/TheCompanyLDR/status/1325069373376262146
I left the Army after 14 years and 9 months of service, from PVT to SFC. I quit. I was exhausted from fighting the sexism and misogyny. I was ashamed of my own internalized misogyny. I needed to feel like I was supposed to be in the rooms I was in, because I never did. 2/
Every promotion or position of new responsibility came with comments about who I may have fucked to get there. Every unit came with another senior enlisted or officer that would hit on me or create an uncomfortable situation. 3/
A new commander to sign my family care plan that only I had to maintain, even though another soldier was also "responsible" for the life I brought into this world. (Note: this changed when my hubby adopted as his own) 4/
And my favorite, another commander that thought my husband was his soldier even though my husband had a full goatee at the time and we were meeting in person. 5/
I don't ever want anyone to go through what I went through. And I am so freaking pumped that we have leaders like @scottjstephens @gilltheamazon and others to implement this change. Cheers! fin/
