lol ima make a thread of the day i got invited to see a Broadway Play by the playwright and met Harry Styles
So it all started a year ago today on November 10th me and kiaya were living together with a witch and a round this time my life really started to change and i started transitioning into SIS...so i was working at the Big Apple Circus at lincoln center That morning
And i was working and they had just asked if i could do a double and i was like nahh i gotta dip! i was overworked so as i was leaving my good sis Jeremy tweeted out as he often does something like âwho wants to see slave play and hasnât i have an extra ticket for youâ and bitch
I aint neva slid in some dms so fast! lmao not âcan i sit next youâ So yeah once jeremy said come 3pm i took off running from 72nd to 45th had to get there by 3pm bitch

Then i finally made it to the theater u was good AND GEEKED i had italia record this cause i was so excited
Yall i was SOO EXCITED I WROTE A LIL SONG WHILE I WAITED OUTSIDE THE THEATER W/ITALIA this was big to us black theater kids lol stuff like this dont happen to just anybody (in the grand scheme/where we come from)
Then my sis showed tf up tittie out cigarette in hand and i was GEEKED again. Feeling validated as a black person and worthy to be in the moment
Then J walked to the ticket booth and spoke with them and i was just waiting like i cant belive this.. And then we went through the backstage area and heres a video of that lmaooo and as we were walking j said âwere gonna have a special guest with us todayâ and i was like cool
Then we sat down and i was like eowwwwww im at this mothafuckin black ass broadway show with the black ass playwright in the front shitting on these yt patron its LITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT couldnt tell me shit
Then all of a sudden as i was taking this pic
I got a tippity tap on my shoulder and as i began to scoot to the next seat i looked up and there he was. At first i was really chill about it because i knew i couldnt geek so i was just like this fun!!!! and we started to chit chat about the weather he was like oh yeah im from
The uk and i was like YEAH YOU ARE LMAOOOO AND IT WAS A COOL TIME!!! I was freaking the FUCK out inside but i knew i had to keep my cool and stay chill then the show started and WOW TALK ABOUT A GOOD FUCKING SHOW
I think my biggest takeaway from the show itself was definitely atoâs monologue in Act 2 and the line âmotherfucker i am the prizeâ That just hit EVER so different. In interracial relationships for queer black folk i feel too often we can get caught up in this idea
That ohh im so lucky to have you. Because my worth and validation as a black queer body in this world is so miniscule that YOU had to take a chance on me and settle for me because i had forgotten who i was. That just really hit very different and put ALOT into perspective
I had a really large thought that i was thinking at that time too that i finally figured out how to put into words but ill say it on my stories cause its to much to text lol...so anyways yeah that show really changed my life and influenced my art and why i do it forever
So then curtains went down and it was really cool because for the second time (first w/ audra in shuffle along) i got to see two actresses play the same role in one show. Joaquina had stepped out and Eboni stepped in
So then i was like wait FUCK this is THEE HARRY STYLES im sis im a fan and he was like awwe (very friendly) and i was like can we snag a pic!! And we did and i was like so nice meeting you and he gave me a kiss on the cheek and said nice meeting you love..and i was shook
Then his security guard came to get him and i was like wow what a nice man, what an amazing show. This day is amazing. And so i took my ass to the stagedoor like i do after a broadway show
and then all of a sudden this sweet man named Greg Nobile came and got me and was like girl you coming backstage and i was like WHEEEEETTTTTTT AND SO we did the walkthrough thing again and
We was on stage and i was geeked again and we were all chilling and having a ki
then we took these pics and it was an amazing fun time we talked about jeremys titties, i talked to harry about clouds, alot of moments ill never forget.
And as i was walking out i just remembered to stay very present and in the moment and promised myself i would never forget today and how i felt. This was a very big day. My heart was soo full.
This was a day that my life had changed. This is why i talk about access soo much because we dont see how important it is. If you are in the rooms and seeing your dreams in their fullness you can aspire to them soo much more. You can know what youre aspiring to! And just wow...
So thank you @jeremyoharris once again for making sure you always bring a plus two..and being a fierce proud black queer artist and being available and accessible and making sure your people have access! I will never forget that day and you will forever be an ICON in my book!
So yeah November 10th 2019 will forever be a special day in my heart. I will never forget it.
