Are Democrats planning on doing anything in response to all this? Or are they just going to sit on their hands and wait until it's too late and then say there was nothing that could be done anyhow like usual https://twitter.com/anniekarni/status/1326269336143716352
Do Dems not realize that messaging is an important part of their job? It's more than just how many votes you have in a chamber somewhere. You actually have to do politics too
You can't win elections (like the upcoming Georgia runoffs, for example) without voters who feel like you're working for them passionately. You need to woo them a bit. Make some noise. Do SOMETHING.
Here is something uncomfortable that none of us like to think about: laws aren't real. Nations aren't real. Money isn't real. All of these things are just collective agreements to believe in the power of an idea.
If you don't work to keep those ideas alive in the minds of people, they decay. They get subsumed by other ideas. It's happened before and it will happen again. We have the power to shape the conversation whatever way we want if we're brave enough to wield it.
Republicans understand this, and Democrats need to learn it very soon, or they will lose any progress that's been made very quickly.
