I’m so thankful to be nominated for an AACTA alongside some extraordinary women. I would also like to remind folks that I’m non-binary. Ive always been non-binary. The way I present, I understand, may be confusing to some people, particularly given the female roles I’ve played.
However, it’s really important for both myself and my trans and genderqueer community that I make this distinction. Thank you to AACTA and to everyone who has sent me their love and well wishes. I feel greatly honoured to have my work acknowledged amongst extraordinary talent.
it means a great deal to me. I wish the best of luck to all the nominees.
And for anyone wondering...
I am most comfortable being referred to as a person. I am extremely Indigenous and extremely gay. My gender is non-binary and my pronouns are they/them.
If you’re a Blackfella or a friend I am completely comfortable with you calling me sis, bro, cuz,
