What if I told you that your brunch/lunch/dinner meeting can be inaccessible because misophonia can trigger overload? ...like, EASILY
That's not even getting into folk who have scent sensitivities either.
If you're going to have an eat & meet gathering, Keep Them Separate. Pls.

Two models that are great, depending on the kind of event.
1. Meet. Eat. Go.
Have a designated time to eat, allowing folk to decide if they want to show up for that time, having distanced seating from other eaters, &/ allowing the use of headphones/ear defenders.

2. Sepatate.
And this partially applies to #1 as well, have the food area designated away from the social area. That way folk can decide when they want to eat & do so at distance from folk who may be triggered by the sound/smell.

#2 is the model that we used for our last autistic event.
And if it's a virtual space, muting mics & not speaking while you're eating is invaluable.

Additionally, I have seen the topic of class access come up quite a few times when it comes to things like lunch meetings
Please remember that people often work during lunch times, & may also work/have family responsibilities during dinner times.

Consider who you are disincluding...also consider providing &/ covering day care
..and sensory spaces

I've even seen folk who have offered to provide financial compensation for them missing work!
Things to consider
