Georgia recount:
Trump's people are asking for a HAND RECOUNT of ballots. Georgia in-person voters use a computer to 'mark' the ballots/make selections, which are then printed on paper with the voter able to verify before scanning in their presence.

Once the ballots are scanned in the polling place, the numbers are tallied by computer at the county level, then reported to the state. But the paper is kept. Absentee ballots are also paper. So there is a paper trail. There wasn't in the last several elections.

The paper is kept for recount purposes. A machine recount would be a re-scan of the paper ballots. A hand recount could mean human examination of nearly 5 Million paper ballots. The GA Sec of State told @11AliveNews he is considering it.

The timing is this:
159 counties have until this Friday to certify their results.
The Sec of State has called for his own audit which would take place BEFORE he certifies on Nov. 20.
After Nov. 20, if margin is within 0.5% (it will be), losing candidate can request a recount.
