My first attempt at a THREAD.

I want to share with you why I chose Trump in 2016, and how I knew - absolutely - that he would be elected. A walk down 2015 - 2016 memory lane. This is long, but as Trump supporters, I think you’ll enjoy it. 1
Sometime in 2013, I had hopes that Dr. Ben Carson would run for prez. When he announced his bid, I was thrilled. I saw Trump’s famous golden elevator announcement, and was intrigued - but I still wanted Carson. 2
A few others briefing interested me & I researched them: Walker, Cruz, Paul, Christie (yeah, I know), Jindal, Rubio (vomit), Fiorina, Santorum, Huckabee, & Perry. (Did you even remember Lindsey Graham ran?) 3
Never ONCE did I consider low energy Jeb! Even back then I was done with the Bushes, although initially I did think Jeb was a good guy (ha - shows how naive I was
back in 2015). 4
The 1st debate, August 6, 2015. The main stage was crowded, and we were told what a fantastic group of gold star candidates we had - the best ever. Even the ‘kiddie stage’ had some good standouts. 5
Right off the bat - at the very beginning of the 1st debate - I got the first glimmer of the REAL standout Trump was when he was the only one who raised his hand in refusal to take the pledge to support the eventual nominee. 6
And Trump didn’t back down, even when Baier pulled his usual condescending badgering. That tickled me. 7
I’ve never been a fan of conformity per se, or of such childish antics as Bret Baier pulled with the pledge BS, before anybody had even done any debating (and we all know a real tool Baier has turned out to be, don’t we?) 8
But at that point, I was still in Dr. Carson’s camp. 9
As the debate went on, I vacillated a bit from one candidate to another, until I started to notice something - Trump wasn’t saying much, & I realized he was intent on sizing up his opponents. Very intent. Hmmm… 10
Then, about halfway through, Trump started swinging - batting at his opponents, verbally slugging them. Little by little releasing his obviously held-back aggression. (I can’t remember, but I think he started his famous branding that night). 11
More than once I laughed out loud. Trump’s hits, and his opponents’ bewilderment, helped highlight how weak many of the others were. Especially amnesty Jeb & change-as-the-politcal-wind-blows Rubio. 12
I was watching the debate with a friend, and I hollered something like, “that’s it! That’s what we need this time - a pit-bull fighter.” My mind was made up, although it took my friend a little longer to select Trump as her candidate. 13
My friend eventually selected Trump for his business experience & acumen, and for his trade policies. All good reasons. And we both studied his policies carefully to be absolutely certain. This election was far too important to be frivolous. 14
I don’t remember what the biggest standout was for me in terms of Trump’s policies. They were all good. But I know trade & foreign affairs were near the top. 15
Over the next few months, I did briefly consider a couple of other candidates, but always came back around quickly to Trump. 16
And after seeing Kasich’s many eating adventures, I was cured of considering him as Trump’s VP. (did you know he’s the son of a mailman?). 17
Seriously - it's like he couldn't stop. He didn't even stop to talk to the press - just talked around his food
That’s how I selected Trump. Now, on to when & why I knew, equivocally & without reservation, that Trump would be elected. Here’s where it may get a bit strange for some people, but I’m pretty sure those with strong faith will understand. 18
Sometime around the middle of January, 2016 I saw God put His hand on Trump. I cannot fully explain this - it was not “physical” - I did not see - with my human eyes - God reach down and put His hand on Trump. 19
This was an entirely spiritual experience, and was as real as anything I’ve ever known in the physical realm. I had zero doubt, & was filled with peace, confidence, and certainty. 20
Because I’ve had many deeply spiritual experiences in my life, and have often felt the Holy Spirit work through me, this experience regarding Trump didn’t surprise or confound me. It just pleased me immensely. 21
Being human, I did have momentary doubts between that time and election day, but they were truly fleeting. I knew. And if I wavered even a little bit, I prayed for guidance, and was quickly calmed. 22
There was only ONE time that I got scared - around 11:00 on election night. They had still not called the race - what was going on? Exhausted, having been up for well over 24 hours, I fell asleep. 23
Around 2:00 in the morning, I woke up & immediately turned on the TV. At that very moment on the news, they announced Trump had won. My dog literally almost fell off the bed when I jumped up & screamed, “WE DID IT!!! WE WON!!!” I cried. Joy. 24
I have zero doubt that Trump was anointed by God to be President of the USA for such a time as this. That’s why I believe he will be re-elected for his 2nd term. 25
For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? Isaiah 14:27
