@ABCaustralia we need to talk. This is difficult to say.

We need to break up.

This has been a long time coming and I think you knew it was going to end this way. We’ve had a great run, 40 years of viewing and listening, but we can’t go on...
I learnt a lot from you over the years. You were once a beacon of representation, truth and information for rural Australia, now you have become our largest critic & detractor. Sadly you seem set on destroying Australian Agriculture - talk about biting the hand that feeds you...
...I thought maybe I had changed as I’ve aged & I was the one in the relationship causing tension. On contemplation, it’s not me, it’s you. We have to break up. You’ve changed. Where once you aired stories about the good things in agriculture and rural Australia, now you take...
...a hatchet to anything your journalists think will create a scandal or headline and promote their career. If you manage to air a positive story about ag, it’s about something like organic garlic production or bush honey on the urban fridge of Sydney - nothing that represents...
...true food and fibre production in this country. Even the NSW Country Hour which supposed to target an agricultural audience, somehow manages be anti farming & is the butt of jokes amongst the people who are meant to support it...
So I’m sorry to say it @ABCaustralia we have to break up. If you want me I’ll be listening to Spotify & podcasts, watching Netflix or just enjoying the silence and not seeing/hearing regional Australia get run down by self promoting journalists with an axe to grind...
...I truly wish you the best @ABCaustralia and what remains of the few good people at @ABCRural. I know you’ll be happy with your new clique of small world view, city centric, anti-agriculture friends & you won’t even notice I’m gone...
...Safely protected by gov’t mandate and funding, you will survive, it will just be without me and a large swathe of alienated rural Australia who have already switched off. All the best @ABCaustralia #yourabc
