I want to show big appreciation

First things first, it is SO good to be together again as a community. It feels so good to be *seen*. Our field has been hit hard and we're all struggling. We need to support each other and lift each other up. Thank you for being generous and curious and human. #MCN2020
Second, I get the sense that so many of us working in museum technology are feeling the pressure and that the idea of a "pivot" underscores how much our labor has been historically undervalued. We're looking for ways to make that work more visible--ideas? #MCN2020
While our institutions react/panic, it's so important to pause and reflect on our goals. Who are we? What good are we trying to do in the world? What does our community need? Doing digital strategy can feel like leading the ethical charge (w/o commensurate compensation?) #MCN2020
Another key point from the audience is about the potential permanence of this mode we're in. How do we sustain this? How do we get people to understand that things aren't/shouldn't go "back to normal"? How do we take care of our teams and garner the resources we need? #MCN2020
Beyond some of these heavy, existential issues, some common complaints: Matterport

We also talked about engagement numbers that are up and numbers that are down (seems to be a mix across institutions), the push to move fans towards $ and other substantial support, and a desire from audiences to keep virtual experiences going after we reopen. #MCN2020
