What's so infuriating about this (with the original tweet) is the way these people carry themselves.
They position themselves as some sort of paragons - speaking the truth, protecting children, fighting the "secret garden" of education.
It's a disgrace. It's cheap and lazy. https://twitter.com/JuliaHB1/status/1326205412975255553

The last 8 months of education have been so hard.
Working in a school is damned hard at the best of times.
Add in a global pandemic, a whole heap of unknowns from week to week (let alone month to month) and a painfully inadequate response at a national level.

And that gives you the toughest experience many of us have ever faced. Teachers, support staff, school leaders have gone above and beyond to make this work. And continue to do so.
I'm not here for your sympathy, JHB. I'm here to tell you that you are painfully wrong.

You can't extrapolate outrageous claims based on the very few experiences and anecdotes you have. If you're so concerned - along with the rest of your ilk e.g. Andrew Adonis - it's time to use your platform and your influence to make a change.
It's easy to stand at the side and take cheap shots. Especially when you're taking shots at those without the same power and voice as you.
Why not come and help? Come and show your support. Education is a universal good - show some "backbone" (as you call it...) and help.

I always say to ignore these tweets but this one got under my skin.
TL;DR - Teachers, support staff and anyone working in schools right now are heroes. Thanks for all that you do.

Final thoughts, this isn't intended to diminish anyone else and their experience. I've seen first hand the chaos this situation has wreaked in @lucyhighnett professional life. It's hard for everyone. And it's important we acknowledge that truth - no one gains from sowing division.
