It seems pretty unambiguous to me that we're in the middle of a coup attempt. It also seems pretty unlikely to work. It's a bad situation in any case, and we ought to focus on the most critical thing we could be doing in response: posting and trying to own people on this website.
In all seriousness though, I think we should count ourselves lucky that incentives, competence, and levels of actual determination have aligned the way they've seemed to here, because if they hadn't ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
I mean, personally I think the real answer is that the right has already won here, certainly as far as our institutions are concerned, so they're not going to stick their necks out and press themselves into some extraordinary effort to keep the presidency. https://twitter.com/tel_varon/status/1326250874201649152
I dunno, could be wrong. We'll see what Republicans outside of Trump's immediate orbit materially do to upend the results beyond saying or suggesting Trump's right and supporting Potemkin legal cases. In for a very, uh, interesting couple of months regardless.
I will say that posting aggressively seems to be more than the Democratic Party as a collective unit is doing about any of this right now. The posts are important, folks! Don't know what else would be happening without them.
Well, we'd better hope not, because 2012 was the last broadly acknowledged Democratic victory we will ever see again. https://twitter.com/dodgingcars/status/1326254819984564225
