Most GOP lawmakers have stuck to a line echoed by a spokesman for Rep. @cathymcmorris, who said she
"believes that every legal vote should be counted and that President Trump has every right to seek legal recourse in response to allegations of voter fraud and impropriety."

2/
It should be noted, as @uidaholaw's @bplenercover told me, that the lawsuits filed by the Trump campaign and the RNC haven't shown evidence of fraud. Most have to do with which ballots should be counted or the access observers have to the ballot-counting process.

2 WA Republicans went a little farther.

“We have not seen the evidence that would change the outcome in the several states needed to overturn the results of the election, but like all Americans the president has the right to press his claims in court," @HerreraBeutler said.

5/
"I think a legal challenge is OK and reasonable, but to come to that conclusion before the results of any kind of recount or investigation ... probably does diminish the confidence the American people have in our system," @RepNewhouse told me.

6/
But other Republicans I talked to used stronger terms. Mark Braden, the RNC's top lawyer 1979-89 who later represented GOP candidate Dino Rossi in WA's 2004 recount, said unlike that race, recounts now are "not meaningful when you’re talking about tens of thousands of votes.”

7/
“I don’t know whether what he’s saying is what he genuinely believes and he’s just been deluded by people saying stuff on the internet or it’s some type of cynical situation where he’s lying," Braden told me.

"It appears to me to damage the credibility of our system."

8/
WA's GOP Secretary of State @KimWyman12 told me she takes Trump's claims as an attack against election workers.

"To make those statements about the ethics and the integrity of the people doing this work because you are losing, potentially, is just incredibly disappointing.”

9/
. @bplenercover said the lawsuits are more political strategy than legal strategy.

“Part of the problem is that there’s a pretty high threshold to win a lawsuit in a court ... but there’s a very, very low bar to spreading disinformation and misinformation online.”

10/
Trump's holdout could also hurt the govt's response to COVID, etc.

“If the Trump administration drags its heels on the transition, that is likely to make it more difficult for the government to operate in an effective way leading into January," @LisaManheimWA said.
