loose thought but also aside from fighting over otome localizations can we PLEASE support indie otome devs. they do such quality and unique products that we really should be supporting, especially financially
often the size and quality of japanese localizations! they deserve much better than that.
first of all, pretty much anything from @ebihimes is pure gold. my personal favourite is This World Unknown, which is simply beautifull in all ways an i sometimes wish i could forget it and relive it all over again. its one of the best otome titles ive played, ever.
next we have an absolute classic and must-play of indie otomes, especially that it's free @dicesukidev's Cinderell Phenomenon! the sequel is also coming up next month. extremely creative and unique take on fairy tales with a memorable cast and fierce heroine that grows a lot.
im deeply saddened @Salamandra_88 passed away recently, because all her games were a delight. my favourite is These Nights in Cairo, involving a diverse cast, wonderful heroine, and a fantastic tale uncovering mysteries of ancient egypt. you also can get it on with the villain!
@sakevisual still has one of the most shining gems of english-speaking otome fandoms - Backstage Pass! a deeply professional release with everything you may desire (even voiceover), still surprising me with all the love and effort in its creation. it even has a dress-up mechanic!
next is definitely @WinterwolvesG with so many wonderful releases i didnt know which one to choose here. C-14 dating is defintely a fun ride with lovely cast and more unique themes! though im also terribly fond of another game: Nicole, because its a mystery game...
Hustle Cat from @DateNighto, another classic! customizable MC, cat theme, magic and mystery... this game has it all and i genuinely am surprised not everyone's heard of it.
and of course it wouldnt be me if i didnt plug in @batensan's Magical Otoge Ciel which set all my standards for funny, darling an lighthearted otome stories while also having a complete hold over my emotions. also, its free!
Rose of Winter!!! one of the most original titles out there, taking that classic tropes and stepping over them to deliver, baked by @pillowfightio. the cast is AMAZING and diverse, the heroine shows that being cute is not limited to skinny people, and i just love it so much help.
there's also @Patch_Games with xoxo droplets and xoxo blood droplets, aka one of the most amazing otomes out there. and other wonderful games, really. everything they touch is magic and pure gold, especially these two. i couldn't recommend it more!
also of course Monster Prom from @btflglitch which isnt a 100% otome game (but you can play it like it is...!) but is genuinely fantastic and what you should be playing in the crazy year 2020 because its thematically fitting. also with a camp-themed sequel!
