Black people created every type of music in America.
The Banjo is one of the foundational musical instruments of country.
It’s a descendent of something called a lute which is an African instrument
Country music is arguably the oldest form of music that truly originated in America.
Country music was originally called hillbilly music. It was music that poor whites would travel and play in blackface minstrel shows.
Why were these minstrel shows so popular? Because they were taking the types of music former enslaved folks would play for their masters.

Black people created country music.
Black people created blues.
Blues finds its roots in negro spirituals, field work songs, and African folk music
The first blues published sheet music was "I got the blues" by Antonio Maggio in 1908.
Blues inspired every major style of American music but the two genres that are direct derivatives of blues are Jazz and Country.
Jazz is similar to blues in the since that they both use blue notes and call-response vocals. They also have roots in African culture.
Although no single individual can be credited with the creation of Jazz one of the earliest composers is Scott Joplin "The King of Ragtime"
Even though blues is considered the predecessor for Jazz most musical historians believe that they originated in similar times
Subgenres of jazz include ragtime (which is to an extent a predecessor), big band, avant-garde, swing, and others
Although New Orleans is often credited as the hub of jazz music Many Jazz artist during the turn of the century migrated north.
Which led to the Harlem Renaissance & eventually the white washing of Jazz post Roaring 20s
Great Jazz musicians include: Louie Armstrong, Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis.

Of course there are many many others.
The exact state, time, and individual who created Rock & Roll has been fiercely debated but there has been a general agreement of 2 things.
1. Rock was created in the South
2. Rock was created by black people
Chuck Berry Little Richard Muddy Waters. All of these men have claimed over the years that they were the creators of rock and roll. The important thing to note is that they are all black.
These are the men who influenced (and were stolen from) the likes of Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, and etc etc etc.
