Being a person of colour does not make you an expert on racism.
There are loads of PoCs who uphold racism and white supremacy *cough* Priti Patel. I'm starting to see white institutions bring in any ole Black/Brown person to do "diversity work" without any grounding or know how in critical theories/frameworks or methodologies.
This is dangerous stuff bc it undermines the activism and struggles of PoCs in these spaces, esp those who work is carried out via the union. The Black/Brown stooges also enact colonial behaviours of extraction and erasure.
This brings me to problem of EDI as consultancy work, its rooted in capitalistic frameworks of disposability and can actually make places more toxic for PoCs.
