The media is laying landmines right now. Let me show you how:

1. They announced Joe Biden as president-elect. Not "projected" president-elect. Just president-elect. AP has done this, NYT has done this, and so have several other outlets.
This sets the public up to believe that all of this is done and handled, and any attempt to combat that is "stealing the election."

2. They are now trying to hammer into the public conscious that the allegations of fraud are unfounded.
"No, dead people haven't voted."

"Yes, mail in ballots are totally safe."

"No, machines have not glitched."

"Yes, it's totally normal that Republicans won house seats and kept the senate but lost the presidency."
This all serves to make Trump look like he is illegitimately refusing to concede and every attempt at Trump refuting their points is "stealing the election."
3. This is likely going to SCOTUS in some way or fashion. But the media has that covered too.

See, they've convinced people that Republicans broke the rules by putting Barrett on the court. So any SCOTUS ruling that has her as a tie breaker is going to be seen as illegitimate.
Will this matter? Not in an enforcing law kind of way. But it will matter in a public perception kind of way.
4. Bottom line, it plays out like this: Normies who only listen to the mainstream think Biden has won and that Trump is just throwing a tantrum. Then suddenly in December "Donald Trump Will Remain President Of The United States For Another Four Years."
These people aren't going to look into the nuance of how this played out. The fraud, the glitches. What they'll see in their minds is "illegitimate supreme court places illegitimate president in power."

Is that reality? No. But people's perception of reality is more important.
And that's why the media is so powerful. They shape the perception of reality. They've primed the public for all of this. And if (when) Trump is announced the winner in December, all of those landmines are going off.
This is not accidental. And it's exactly why the media is the enemy of the people. You have to be an IDIOT to work in media and not see how this plays out if Trump wins. They know FULL WELL their work is a bomb set to detonate should they not get their way.
And there's no plausible deniability behind "We knew people would be angry but we didn't know they would engage in violence." That claim was killed earlier this year.
