In our city you may be surprised how many public green spaces and green routes there are near you – with these spaces being so important for us all right now here are some ideas for exploring our great green places in London…
We’re custodians of 12k miles of #NationalCycleNetwork across the UK, you can find them all on this map.

London has 160 miles of routes – and these are some of our favourites...
(Cycling not for you? Don’t be put off! Most people using these routes are on foot. Come along and enjoy the #NCN – you are most welcome to walk, wheel, jog, push, cycle, hop, dance, skip or jump and find somewhere new to explore)
*Thames path between Greenwich and Erith/NCN1* #NCN
Continue east from Greenwich along the Thames path and drift along with the Thames traffic free all the way to Erith.

*Between Putney and Hampton court/NCN4* #NCN
This route takes you to some fabulous green spaces in west London including Barnes Common, Richmond Park, Ham common, Hampton court park, Bushey Park and the @ThamesPathNT. https://www.sustrans.org.uk/find-other-routes/hampton-court-to-putney/
Our routes are signposted with these lovely red numbers. Our volunteers and partner Boroughs do a great job at keeping these in place, but in case you miss a sign or a sign misses you it’s a good idea to have a backup map with you. #NCN
Walking or jogging? London has hundreds more miles of waymarked walking routes for you. Some sections are also great for walking with buggies or wheelchairs. Find comprehensive information on seven routes that span the capital here:

And you can find more inspiration at London National Park City @LondonNPC. You may be surprised at how much there is to find on your doorstep https://www.nationalparkcity.london/places-to-go
It can feel like a concrete jungle, but 47% of our big bustling city is ‘green space’, 2% is ‘blue space’. 33% of these spaces are classified as ‘natural habitats’.

We hope this helps you find your own space, for whatever you need it for right now.
