....being accused of being "unpatriotic" is lethal to the party & voting against won't stop these bills anyway. It's all about optics. Then again it's totally understandable & good that the SCG vote with principles. Starmer can't bend the rules for the SCG, if anyone....
.....defies the whip they lose their shadow cabinet role. If he doesn't apply the same rules to everyone that's discipline gone. It's not a purge, it's the mechanics of Parliament. I don't know the way around it, but inflammatory rhetoric (from whichever faction) doesn't help.
