Mike Doran is trying to sell to himself, before selling to his own followers, the hilarious idea that the outcome of the Nagorno-Karabakh war is somehow a huge loss for Iran.
Um, how exactly? Now with Russia in control of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh, how is this bad for Iran again?

Somehow, everyone's omitting the fact that Russia is now in control of territory that's disputed/claimed by both Armenia and Azerbaijan. In other words, earth to Mike Doran, Russia now dictates the politics of these 2 countries. It has strengthened its influence due to this war.

I'm not sure people are grasping this predicament just yet.
Russia now controls the destiny of both Azerbaijan and Armenia because it now controls the statelet of Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh, which it has wanted to do since the 90s. This relieves Iran of any local responsibilities.
