In 2018, Asya sang at a Trump rally while under her contractual duties as Miss Mississippi America. If you have ever participated in a pageant & know about pageant contracts, there are some duties you HAVE to do as a representative of that organization whether you like it or not
In 2018, Asya also attended a round table discussion w/ Trump and other MS Reps to talk about Prison Reform—-the First Step Act. If you know Asya’s testimony of having an incarcerated parent and her work advocating for prison reform in MS, then it’s clear why she was there.
The round table discussion led up to Mississippi’s 2018 Summit on Criminal Justice Reform, which Asya spoke at along with notable folks like @VanJones68
While I am not claiming to know what Asya’s political beliefs are, nor do I care for that matter, because I know who she is as a person and the work that she’s done. Don’t take things out of context and use it as a way to bash someone who can actually get some good work done.
