I’ve often said that Pastor Deyoung represents the orthodox edge of a liberalizing movement. He expresses conservative ideas but makes sure no one does so loud enough or stridently enough to stop the liberalism. Will Mrs. Keller or Mrs. Byrd be offended by him? Nope.
