I feel like this is Covid-in-March all over again, but when it comes to this whole "RIGGED ELECTION" business, we need to distinguish between four very different claims:
1) Probably some fraud.
2) Probably enough fraud to swing the election
3) I'm confident enough in #2 to make public allegations.
4) This was a coordinated conspiracy to RIG THE ELECTION!
Most people have jumped straight to #3 or #4, before even establishing the evidence for #1.
To be clear, my biggest concern here, as with Covid-in-March, is not the fact that people are asking questions. It's that they are acting as if they already know the answers.
And when that happens, consider the long-term results. Today we know that what the experts said about Covid in March was in fact almost entirely correct; and yet tens of millions of Americans internalized the conspiracy theories so thoroughly that they haven't noticed.
The same result seems inevitable here. If it turns out that the fraud charges were almost entirely false, it will be too late to collect the record for tens of millions of Americans. The resulting civic harm may make 100,000 preventable Covid deaths look trivial by comparison.
