One of the things that bothered me most since Sunday (besides people lacking basic understanding of the BRF) is that so many had the nerve to disparage the Duke of Kent. âWho the hell is he to lay a wreathâ, âheâs not a working memberâ, etc etc. cont...
Why was the Duke of Kent there? Well he was there to lay a wreath on behalf of The Field Marshall...not for himself.
Furthermore, In 1995, his cousin, Queen Elizabeth, appointed The Duke with the honor of being Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

Furthermore, In 1995, his cousin, Queen Elizabeth, appointed The Duke with the honor of being Deputy Colonel-in-Chief of the The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
And even more fitting that He be there: He has been President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission since 1970, an organisation that commemorates Commonwealth servicemen and women who died in the two world wars, and cares for memorials at 23,000 locations in 154 countries.
The Duke of Kent is passionate that future generations should be encouraged to remember the sacrifice made by so many during the conflicts of World War I and World War II. He has traveled the world to visit gravesites and memorials of those who have sacrificed.
The 85 Year old Duke also has an impressive military career. There is more than one person in the BRF that served in the military.
And is STILL involved with and passionate about the military today.

And who is the Duke of Kent to be there?? Prince Edward is the grandson of a KING!! Nephew to two Kings and First cousin and Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He is a full-time working royal with over 140 charities and patronages. Before coming at him

Pardon the language, but it INFURIATES ME to the highest degree when people just vomit out nonsense without doing their due research. Because if they took 5 minutes on the googler, theyâd find out what an asset he is...even though he isnât splashed all over magazines.
The DofC is Co-Presidents with The Duke for the UK Scouts and is Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which the Duke is President of. I believe as he ages and possibly retires, she will be taking over some (if not a lot) of his charities. Thatâs a big deal.
If he was just some âcrusty old unimportantâ member of the BRF, why are they grooming a future Queen Consort to take over some of his charities and patronages?
I also saw âWhy is a 37th in line to the throne there?â When The Duke was born, he was 7th in line to the throne after his three uncles, two cousins and father. In 1942, when his father died, he was 5th in line...let that sink in for what the future holds for for the current 6th
Well, where he could possibly wind up in the line of succession in the future. As families grow, down the line of succession you go!!! King George V had 6 children. All senior royals at one point.
He also holds great honors:
Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order
United Kingdom Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George
Principal Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George
England
Royal Knight of the Order of the Garter

England

I always say...the ones who are most quiet, are doing the most work. While all of yâall are whinging, The Duke will continue on as always, unbothered. May God Bless you and keep you Sir.
