There is deffo a large conversation to be had about the way cis men are now dressing fem to catch the attention and trust of young girls on apps and but also how the critique of that might also actually have a negative knock on effect for trans guy and trans women.
Cis men dressing up for performative reasons online and then being transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic acting with tons of toxic masculinity irl is an issue. Cis men using femininity to gain trust while actual feminine men are targeted everyday by these same men.
And associating trans women with this as though they perform femininity for trust is transphobic TERF bullshit. The two situations are v different. One is a man, one is a woman. One faces extreme backlash for living authentically, one dishes it out then uses it for self benefit.
That said, I've seen how people conflate the two and how any "man in a dress" narratives viciously get thrown at trans women. Its transphobia and transmisogyny. Plain and simple.
The fact these men usually dont respect trans women should be a huge indicator of their intent tbh
But yeah, I do think there is a conversation to be had, I think just maybe making people aware of the fact these guys are mostly using the aesthetic for views and clout while not supporting the people the 'aesthetic' actually effects irl.
Like this shit gets many many gnc and trans people bullied yet it gets them attention, views, love, all the good stuff, why? Bc at the end if the day people know they're still cis straight white men.
