1/ By most key metrics, attendance at Church of England services fell by between 10% and 20% from 2008-2018.

But the social footprint of the Church of England has increased and is only set to increase further.
2/ How do we understand the paradox of a church with declining national attendance and a growing social footprint? How might we reshape the social and spiritual role of the church going forward?
3/ The culmination of three years of extensive qualitative and quantitative research, the #graceproject in partnership with @churchurbanfund finds that social action can be a route to church growth in both numerical and spiritual terms.
4/ The report finds that the presence, perseverance, hospitality, generosity, adaptability and invitation to participate demonstrated by the Church of England in parishes nationwide can all contribute to congregations growing in size and going deeper in discipleship.
5/ One recommendation is that the Church of England develop a broader measurement of church growth and impact, reflecting the declining centrality of Sunday services to the life of the Church and providing a richer picture of where and how growth is occurring
