It was reckless of Roe McDermott to state in her advice that the NHS no longer describe puberty blockers as ‘reversible’ without pointing out why. Stats show 96-100% of children who take puberty blockers going on to transition. Far from giving 'time to think', they're a funnel 2/

Not a filter. They hastens the medical pathway which results in long-term damage to bones, height, critical reasoning, sexual function & fertility. Puberty blockers are not ‘reversible’ but are instead, the first step of Medical transition, that is, being dependent on cross-sex/3

hormones for life.Children can't comprehend the heavy medical burden that's involved with medical transition. Children cannot understand the consequences of infertility/ painful/absent orgasms nor should they; these are adult issues & children shouldn't need to worry about them/4

Currently in England a judicial review case has been brought about by the parent of a 15-year-old on the NHS Gender Identify Development Services (GIDS) waiting list known as Mrs A, who does not believe children can understand the ramifications of taking puberty blockers./5

Alongside her is a 23-year-old woman named Keira Bell, who transitioned to male as a teenager but has since detransitioned & believes she should have been challenged more by GIDS during the process.
The claimants against the Trust want to establish a legal minimum age of 18./6

for puberty blocking hormone therapy for young people diagnosed with gender dysphoria & their lawyers arguing that it is illegal to prescribe the drugs to anyone younger as they cannot give informed consent to the treatment. Meanwhile, the UK government has ordered a review /7

across the entire NHS of all of its Gender services. We see very clear evidence of back-tracking from what is a ticking time-bomb. Yet, the @HSELive continue to buy their services. 100 Irish children have been treated by those same services and clinicians now under review. /8

Puberty blockers have never been clinically trialled.
