This is surprising. What's the point of quitting? Is it better if centrists run things instead? We always knew this. Nothing is easy. Centrists are lazy and powerful. The more you rise in anything, the tougher it gets. Change requires not just talent but relentlessness. https://twitter.com/ProfessorGutian/status/1326088091501694979
I mean, this is the whole thing. Change is a war of attrition. You can't just burn bright and fast and hope the flame is hot enough to turn everything into ashes. Centrists have spent decades perfecting corruption and lack of empathy. Their whole plan is to wear everyone down.
This is a good lesson in why pacing is important to anything, including political ambition. Americans think in short-term increments, rarely dynastically, and it's why nothing we do in policy has roots. It's important to get the skill of thinking in terms of long time spans.
Not that everything is predictable! But the whole point of change is not just to create a great flash or explosion, it's to build something with strong foundations that can't be shaken. Reset all incentives. That's what centrists did - they just did it for corporate corruption.
