1. The insurgency in Mozambique Cabo Delgado is one of the most underrated security threats in the SADC region which could affect countries neighboring Mozambique especially Zimbabwe and Malawi.

2. The discovery of Liquid Natural Gas and other minerals in 2010 has led to a massive presence of international corporates with interest in fuel and mining. Islamic extremists have taken arms to fight for Cabo Delgado and the presence of such extremists has led to casualties.

3.The Islams are fighting for both resources and dominance in Cabo Delgado they do not want the International organizations there now where is my story?This situation is worrying for the United States of America they have interests in that region through ExxonMobil etc.

4.We all know before the 9/11 bombings the US had Pakistan under sanctions but following that the US realised they needed Pakistan as an ally if they were to successfully fight the Al Qaeda and the Taliban.They knew they could not go it alone so they lifted the sanctions.

5.America and Paikstan became allies fighting against Al Qaeda and the Taliban.They now worked together because Pakistan also wanted regional stability and the US wanted to get rid of extremists. How does am l relating this to the Mozambican situation?

6.The US and all other regional countries know the threat level in Cabo Delgado and l am certain Zimbabwe is more conscious about this situation than any other country in the region and l am equally certain Zimbabwe is preparing itself to protect it's own borders.

7. The US knows if they are to protect their interests in Cabo Delgado they can not do it without Zimbabwe.The US can not just wake up with troops assisting Mozambique but they will need a partner within the region with a strong and well equipped military.

8. So due to sanctions the Zimbabwean Military is not well equipped and as a result may not have enough to go all out assisting Mozambique unless the US lifts sanctions against Zimbabwe which l think they are already considering to make sure Zimbabwe comes on board.

9.Zimbabwe Defence Forces is known for having some of the best Intelligence strategies as well as war strategies.A lot will happen in the next few months but the biggest issue is for this to happen sanctions against Zimbabwe will have to be removed first.
