I’m not sleeping now because of this #maidengate far-right copium, so here’s a breakdown of why this is highly unlikely to be more than a one-night ordeal (a thread):
1) The initial “proof” tweet cites http://votewashington.info as their source, which is not the state of Washington’s official voter registration database. That can be found at http://VoteWA.gov , and is likely to be more accurate instead of relying on public record.
Voter registration is linked to SSN in many states, and at least 30 states use a pioneer software to notify others in the coalition of change of residence linked to that SSN. CA, for example, invalidates voter registration very quickly after change of address.
Double voting is VERY (emphasis on very) illegal, and countermeasures have existed for decades to catch attempted double voting on both state and National levels. A vote cast does not guarantee a vote counted. That’s what audits and rechecks are for.
And finally, with 7 billion people on this earth, you really think you’re not going to find your name somewhere else?
