New research from @RMTunion reveals that the private rail companies in Scotland set to make over £28 million in profit under Covid-19 Emergency Agreements, equivalent to up to a 7.4% fares cut

At the same time as they stand to make millions in profit under Covid-19 Emergency Measures Agreements, Abellio Scotrail is denying its dedicated rail workers a pay rise and Serco Caledonian Sleeper is refusing to take action on staff fatigue.
The Welsh Government, which has fewer devolved powers, has already confirmed it is taking its rail passenger services into public ownership. The Scottish Government must follow suit and stop millions in public money being handed to the private rail profiteers.
No more excuses - with just two months until the Scotrail and Caledonian Sleeper Emergency Measures Agreements expire, the Scottish Government must end the profiteering and take Scotland’s passenger railway into public ownership from January 2021.
