Another point, from readers: the question predates all this. Trump began his political career by undermining the legitimacy of Barack Obama by claiming he was born in another country and therefore ineligible to be POTUS.
Obama’s birth certificate didn’t appease him bc that was not the point, nor will the investigations that inevitably turn up nothing, since that is also not the point.
