We’re used to thinking of discipline as good and distractions as bad. But everything’s relative right? Discipline can be a distraction if you’re working on the wrong thing. And distractions can actually be a leading indicator of your interests and purpose.
Fun @interintellect_ discussion with @naspap3 helped reframe how I think about staying the course in a world full of distractions.

First off, if we don’t know what the course is, how can we know what a distraction actually is?
Discipline and distraction, treat those two impostors just the same. ”If you don't know where you want to go, then it doesn't matter which path you take” says the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.
Secondly, discipline is a wonderful tool to live a fulfilled life, not necessarily a goal in itself. So discipline can be in service of serendipity and hedonism.
Lastly, distractions tell us important things about ourselves. It’s helpful to invite it in and observe it. What distractions do you pursue and why?
